    Dr. Frank P.K. Hsu is the Chair of Neurological Surgery and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at UC Irvine Medical Center. Dr. Hsu is also the Residency Program Director of Neurosurgery and Fellowship Program Director of Skull Base and Functional Neurosurgery. He is a Professor in Neurological Surgery, Otolaryngology and Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Hsu received his medical degree from the University of Maryland, where he also earned a PhD in mechanical engineering. He completed a general surgery internship, a neurosurgical residency and a fellowship in functional, stereotactic and pain neurosurgery at Oregon Health Sciences University in Oregon. He completed an additional fellowship in cerebrovascular and skull base neurosurgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.

    ]After his fellowships, Dr. Hsu joined Loma Linda University Medical Center, as professor in the Departments of Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as Viceā€Chair of Neurosurgery and Director of the Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Center. Dr. Hsu specializes in cerebrovascular minimally invasive and open skull base surgery. He has extensive expertise in radiosurgery and functional surgery for movement disorders, deep brain simulations, epilepsy and pain. Dr. Hsu also treats patients with aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and cavernous malformations, as well as malignant and benign tumors of the brain and spine.
